K Somorjit wins 'Run for Loktak'

Imphal, October 17 2024: Konthoujam Somorjit won the 'Run for Loktak,' organized by Youth Development Association, Ningthoukhong, and sponsored by LDA and NHPC.

Held as a part of the Loktak Day, the run was flagged off by LDA Chairman M Asnikumar in presence of S Premchandra Singh, MLA, Kumbi and SE Ng Sanajaoba Singh.

The run aimed at raising awareness about Loktak Lake and inspiring youths to actively engage in its conservation.

Konthoujam Somorjit of Yairipok completed the 12 Km run in 38:34.99 minutes.

Ngoupulou of Senapati came in second place by completing the run in 39:36.02 minutes.

Yumnam Ajit of Waiton came in third place by completing the run in 39:52.09 minutes.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were awarded Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
