AMOFA, Moirang pulled off a late equaliser against Shambalpur Football Academy (SFA), Orissa to stay alive for a place in the semi finals of the 52nd CC Meet football tournament being played at Mapal kangjeibung.
The two settled for a 4-4 draw which means the Orissa side is knocked out of the competition as it had lost to MBSU 5-0 earlier in the competition in Group Q .
The winner of the AMOFA and MBSU match will advance to the last four stage of the prestigious tournament.
For AMOFA, H Arun (11th), Th Inaotomba (26th), Lalrentluang (66th) and L Lokesh (90th/P) scored with the outstation team responding through Sunamali Mahanand (20th), Salkhan Soren (37th), W Padma (39th) and H Gobinchandra (77th).SFA played with a man-less after Somran Brahma was given the march order for the second bookable offence at the hour mark.
Another outstation team RPF, Kolkata too are set for an early return to home after a crushing 3-0 defeat at the hands of YWC, Thambalkhong in a Group R quarter final match today.
After I Satyasen opened the YWC score 16 minutes into the match and T Jackychand doubled the advantage in the 46th, L Sumin put the match beyond the opponents' reach with the third goal in the 88th minute.
RPF were held to a goal-less draw by AIM, Khabam Lamkhai.
