THE ALL Manipur District Council Teachers' Association (AMDCTA) in association with the Employees Union of the six autonomous district council has decided to intensify its ongoing agitation against the government which commenced from December 12 last as the government failed to fulfill their demand.
A press release of the AMDCTA said that they are demanding release of the pending salaries of the employees of different department of autonomous district council which is pending since May this year, release of pending 14% dearness allowances arrear from January 2001 to June 2005 and also 12% dearness allowances arrear from July this year till date.
AMDCTA also demanded to introduce General Provident Fund in lieu of Public Provident Fund and immediate implementation of pension benefit scheme.
The association said that the agitation will be carried until the demands are met and the chief executive officer of the six autonomous district council and the state government will bear the responsibilities of all inconvenience caused during agitation.
