STATE CHIEF Minister O Ibobi has reiterated that the Congress led SPF government was determined to persistently carry on with the various developmental projects
in Manipur.
The Chief Minister was speaking at election campaign meetings held today at Kwakta Khuman and Tera Khongshangbi in Moirang assembly constituency in Bishnupur district for the Congress candidate, Mairembam Prithviraj.
Addressing large gatherings, the Chief Minister appealed to the people to preserve and protect the peaceful co-existence and communal harmony among different ethnic groups and communities in Manipur as being presently seen.
He also appealed to the people of Moirang assembly constituency to vote for the Congress candidate, Mairembam Prithviraj in the ensuing by-election in order to strengthen the majority of the SPF government and also to enable the various developement projects make fast progress.
Other Congress Ministers, MLAs, leaders and chairman of by-election committee Tongbram Mangibabu also attended the meetings and spoke about various developmental programmes being taken up by the SPF government and Congress party.
They all appealed to the people of Moirang assembly constituency to vote for Prithvraj.
Meanwhile, with the day of polling for Moirang by-election is just around 10 days away, campaigns of both parties have gained momentum.
Leaders of both Congress and MPP along with other parties supporting MPP have been rushing to Moirang from Imphal on a daily basis to hold campaign meetings.
On the other hand, Bishnupur police are busy removing wall posters and party flags being pasted and erected in public places in violation of election model code of conduct.
