UVSA to face VSAI in Sangai Trophy veterans' football final

Imphal, May 02 2024: UVSA defeated MLVFA on penalties to set up final match against VSAI in the 5th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2024.UVSA held their nerves to overcome MLVFA 4-3 in the penalty shootout after the squads remained deadlocked at 1-1 after the regulation time.

MLVFA took an early lead through Ch Thoiba who converted four minutes into the game.

UVSA responded in the 14th minute courtesy of S Budha, leading to the penalty shootout.

In the shootout, K Premkumar, K Khelendro, S Budha and Kh Romen all converted their shots to help UVSA prevail in the second semifinal on Thursday.
