Ningombam Sanjoy of SSU picked three wickets in this innings as his teammates- Jayananda P, Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma, Sougrakpam Douglas and Saikhomba Thongam picked up a wicket apiece.

Chasing 179 runs for the win, SSU lost Robertson on first ball duck to Borish Khomdram before Anand Mangang and Ningombam Sanjoy 44-run partnership for the second wicket before Mangi Sharma got rid of N Sanjoy for 34 runs.

Things went downhill from there as H Biteshwor struck Sh Deepanker for 4 runs before Laksmon (4/19 in 4 overs) and Laishram Rajesh (2/14) shared a chunk of 6 wickets to throttle the chase.

Anand 34 off 54 balls and Khomdram Rahuldev 11 off 9 balls were unbeaten as SSU ended up collecting 113 runs for 9 after 20 overs.

Laksmon of WYC was eventually adjudged man of the match.

Meanwhile, YUCC beat KCDO-Kongpal by 1 run in a low scoring Group A encounter at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

YUCC won the toss and added a lowly total of 117 runs for 9 wickets thanks to Kadamjit Moirangthem's unbeaten 46 and Ningthoujam Rohit who added a 22-ball 31.Netajit Konsam of KCDO finished with the best figures of 3/15 including the scalps of both the openers while Devendro (2/27) and Ziaur Rahaman (2/16) clinched two wickets each.

KCDO batters however failed to capitalize on the low target as they lost four wickets in the last 8 deliveries despite Md Ajizur Rahman adding a commendable 55-ball 65 and Lucky Thokchom's slow 48-ball 19 .

It was Devraj Nongthombam who gave KCDO jitters early on by removing the openers cheaply before Ajizur and Lucky racked up 85 runs for the third wicket.

Khundrakpam Punshiba however broke the partnership by removing Ajizur for 65 runs in the 19th over.

Things got more tightened as Devendro got run out for 0 in the second delivery of the 20th over, Rahulkumr dismissed Lucky Thokchom for 19 in the next ball and Hafiz Imran got run out in the last ball to end the innings at 116 .

Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, YWC-Langthabal racked up a modest total of 153 runs and bowled out SU for 126 runs to kick off their Group B campaign on a winning note.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Heisnam Manikanta (50-ball 67) and Ngangbam Bikramjit (unbeaten 54-ball 61) scored half centuries to steer YWC-L to 153 for 3 .

Pakpa Chungkham bagged two wickets including the scalps of opener Seram Robinson on 2-ball duck and Ngangbam Bishwash 5 .

Yenshenbam Vivek (3/11 in 4 overs) and Ngangbam Bishwash (3/24 in 4 overs) then made things tough for SU batters in the chase and eventually bowl them out for 126 runs with Maibam Subash, Yumnam Athouba and Pukhrambam Prasantamani also chipping with a wicket apiece.

Ng Bishwas was adjudged man of the match.

In a Group C match, YAC pulled off a 49 run victory against YPHUC-Lalambung Makhong by defending a total of 169 runs after being let to bat first at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground.

Pukhrambam Priyokumar starred with his bat today as he racked up 119 runs for the first wicket partnership with Monjit Loushambam by smashing a 50-ball 70 and gave YAC a positive start.

Run rate declined later in the innings despite Abocha Laishram adding 21 as Tontomba Loktongbam tightened the grip to return with the best bowling figures of 2/14 .

In reply, Robinson smacked 11 fours and 2 sixes on the way to his 47-ball 69 but other batters fell cheaply in regular intervals before the team collapsed at 120 in 18.1 overs.

Singhajit Sharma (2/27), Abocha Laishram (2/32) and Joychandra Singh Ngangom (2/8)of YAC shared 6 wickets among themselves in this innings as Chumthao DK and Oinam Kiram picked up a wicket apiece.

Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, CDCC sealed a 5 wicket win by chasing down a target of 93 runs in 12.5 overs after skittling out OSCAR for 92 runs in 20 overs.

Mutum Jodiba (3/15 in 4 overs) and Mandingbam Surjit (3/14) combined well to set up OSCAR collapse after they opted to bat first.

Boocker Kangjam was the highest run getter for OSCAR with 27 runs to his name in this innings which also saw Khursid Alam, Fm Sharif and Ksh Robert claiming a wicket apiece.

In the chase, Ksh Robert scored an unbeaten 24 off 22 balls after Priyojit Narengbam added 32 runs, to take CDCC to winning 93 in 12.5 overs.

Ringku Kangujam (3/14) and Pursaraj Nongmaithem (2/29) of OSCAR shared a bulk of 5 wickets but their efforts went in vain as the target proved too little to CDCC.
