Wins for CDCC, WYC, YAC & YUCC in MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy

Imphal, December 20 2023: CDCC, WYC, YAC and YUCC all won their games in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy on Wednesday.

CDCC beat OSCAR by 5 wickets in their meeting at Lairenjam Public Ground.

Electing to bat, OSCAR were restricted to 92/10 in the allotted 20 overs.

In the innings, Boocker Kangjam (27) was the top-scorer for his side, followed by Ringku Kangujam (15), Laishram Paul (13) and Lann Naorem (10).Mutum Jodiba and Mandingam Surjit led CDCC's in bowling assault.

The duo equally shared 6 wickets between them.

Khurshid Alam, Fm Sharif and Kshetrimayum Robert each chipped in with a wicket.

CDCC then took 12.5 overs to achieve the target, losing 5 wickets in the process.

Knocks by Priyojit Narengbam (32) and Kshetrimayum Robert (24 not out) helped CDCC secure the victory.

For OSCAR, Ringku grabbed 3 wickets while Pursaraj took two in a losing cause.

WYC registered an emphatic 65-run win over SSU at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

The winning side chose to bat first and were dismissed for 178 in 19.5 overs.

Their innings saw Wangkhem Laksmon score an unbeaten 48 as Mangi Sharma made 46 and H Biteshwor contributed 29 .

Borish (16) and L Rajesh (13) were other contributors in the WYC innings.

WYC then halted SSU's run chase at 113/9 in the allotted 20 overs for their win, riding on W Laksmon's 4 scalps and L Rajesh's 2 wickets, aided by a wicket each from Borish, Biteshwor and Mangi.

Earlier, Ningombam Sanjoy claimed 3 wickets while Jayananda, Deepankar, S Douglas and Saikhomba took one each for SSU.

The match at Cherapur saw YAC defeat YPHUC by 49 runs.

Put in to bat, YAC scored 169/5 as Pukhrambam Priyokumar top-scored for the team with 70, followed by Monjit Loushambam (37) and Abocha Laishram (21), Krishnananda (6), John Singh 95), Jacky (3) and Indrakumar (1) .

In reply, YPHUC stumbled in their chase, surrendering in 18.1 overs for 120/10 as Robinson Meitei hit 69 off 47 balls in vain.

It was collective bowling effort that sealed the win for YAC.

Singhajit Sharma, Abocha Laishram and Joychandra Ngangom snapped 2 wickets each while Chumthao Dk and Oinam Kiram bagged one each in their triumphant bowling attack.

Earlier, Tontomba took 2 wickets as Bishworaj, Isor and Nongthon got one each for YPHUC.

YUCC, meanwhile, pulled off a thrilling one-run victory against KCDO at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

YUCC posted a total of 117/9 after electing to bat first.

Kadamjit Moirangthem (46 not out) and Ningthoujam Rohit (31) were the performers in their innings.

The squad then dished out a disciplined bowling display to defend their total by a whisker, stopping KCDO at 116/6 after the final ball was bowled.

Devraj Nongthombam claimed 2 scalps while Rahul -kumar and K Punshiba took one each in their triumph.
