Imphal, April 15 2024: RK Rex starred with both the bat and ball to guide PTRC, Patsoi Part IV to a 51 run victory over TRAU, Kwakeithel today in the ongoing 8th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

The win, 6th in 10 matches, bolstered PTRC's playoff hopes.

PTRC won the toss and elected to bat first.

They amassed a competitive total of 231 runs for 6 wickets as RK Rex clobbered 11 fours and 2 sixes on the way to his 78-ball 94 after Ngariyanbam Johnson struck 27-ball 46 off 8 fours and 1 six.

Chingakham Bidash also contributed 32 off 44 balls to PTRC's tally in their innings which saw Priyojit Kangabam (2/17), Mutum Swabhiman (2/28), Somorjit Salam (1/59) and Anand Naorem (1/46) sharing 6-wickets for TRAU.

In the chase, TRAU ended up gathering 180 runs for all wickets down in 35.2 overs despite Dr Siddharth Shah's 50-ball 61 as PTRC's RK Rex (3/27 in 6 overs) and Tamarland Pheiroijam (3/29) ran riot to share 6 wickets.

Priyojit Kangabam 44 and Yumnam Karnajit 35 also registered double digit figures as 8 other batters ended up adding single digit runs.

RK Rex was eventually adjudged man of the match.

Model Club post 4-wicket win

Model Club, Singjamei Chingamkha posted a 4-wicket win over Al-Ameen, Lilong for the fourth win in 10 matches at Lairenjam Public Ground today.

After choosing to field first, Model Club's Loukrakpam Superjit (3/22 in 7.3 overs), Dibak Naorem (3/34 in 9 overs), Waikhom Priyokumar (2/32 in 8 overs) led in bundling Al-Ameen for 130 runs in 36.3 overs and chased down the target in 35 overs riding on Ronald Ningombam's half century (unbeaten 111-ball 56) and M Langlonyamba (44-ball 36) .

For Al-Ameen Md Safwan topscored with 54 runs as Md Shamir Khan picked three wickets.

Ronald, who anchored to see his team through to the winning 134, was adjudged man of the match.

Hanjabam Donba bowls ESU to 19-run victory

The day also saw ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound pulling off a 19-run victory over REYS, Nagamapal for their fourth win in 10 matches at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground.

REYS put in ESU to bat first after winning the toss and bundled the latter team out for 134 runs in 43.5 riding on frugal and effective bowling performances from Pinkey Sanasam (3/12 in 9 overs), Md Basir Rahman (3/32 in 7.5 overs) and Kiran Laishram (2/13 in 9 overs) .

The total however too big for REYS to chase as ESU bowling attack led by Hanjabam Donba (4/11 in 5 overs) and Chitaranjan Sharma (2/21 in 9 overs) proved more accurate and held them to 115 all out in 43 overs to carve out a 19-run victory.

For ESU, Sanatomba 34, Sagolshem Ronal 23 and Chongtham Mehul Shreth 19 were the leading run getters while Jaali Ahmed Chisti 34 and Mustaque 28 emerged only double digit run getters in the REY's chase.

Lourembam Dipu (1/17), H Naoba (1/19) and Chongtham Mehul Shreth (1/23) were also among the wickets for ESU.

H Donba, who produced an impeccable bowling performance, was adjudged man of the match.
