Shah's vow allayed public apprehension: CM

The reply to the question of the people from different sections of the society on the border issue and territorial integrity of Manipur has been given by Union home minister Amit Shah during his brief visit in the state, said chief minister N Biren.
Addressing media persons at his secretariat office, here, on Monday after the public meeting of BJP held at Hapta Kangjeibung, CM Biren expressed gratitude to the public for the rousing reception given to Amit Shah at Imphal airport despite the scorching heat and for making the public meeting a grand success by their presence.
The turnout at the meeting amidst the prevailing crisis in the state has clearly indicated the love of the people for the party, he observed.
While reiterating that the people's apprehension over threat to the territorial integrity of Manipur for the past few years has been officially allayed by the Union home minister, the chief minister called upon the people to have trust in the central government as could be comprehended from Amit Shah declaring at the Hapta Kangjeibung meeting that there will be no disturbance to the territorial integrity of Manipur and it will be kept intact.
The Union Minister also said that the upcoming Lok Sabha election is not an ordinary exercise but an opportunity to decide between the Congress party, which is bent on destroying Manipur and the BJP which has stand firm to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur, Biren maintained, while adding that Amit Shah had assured the gathering that the promise of PM Narendra Modi to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur and to solve the present crisis without disturbing the territorial integrity of the state, will be delivered.
He further stated that the announcement made by Amit Shah has provided the answers to the questions of the public on border fencing, FMR and others.
He also said that the BJP manifesto does not include the word 'separate' anywhere as the party is against the very word.
The press briefing was also attended by social welfare minister H Dingo, MLA Kh Ibomcha and BJP candidate of Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Th Basantakumar.
