Imphal, December 23 2010:
The proscribed PREPAK has refuted any connection between the party and Ningthoujam Ranjan alias Spirit (23) s/o Iboton of Sugnu Napat who was among the youths who surrendered to IG AR (S) Maj Gen CA Krishnan and ADG V Zathang on December 20 .
It also denied any relationship whatsoever between the party and Konsam Momon (42) s/o late Tomba, Konsam Nando (32) s/o Amu and Takhellambam Laingam (29) s/o late Bihari of Arapti Mamang Leikai who were pulled up by Imphal East commandos from Urup Arapti on December 21 on the charge of PREPAK activists.
A press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity and propaganda in-charge Aheiba Angom asserted that the four persons never joined the party nor did they have any relation with the party at any point of time.
They were totally unknown to the party.
Saying that Ranjan alias Spirit was hired to take part in the alleged fake surrender drama with the promise of some material gains, the outfit contended that the 9 mm pistol allegedly brought by Ranjan alias Spirit did not belong to the party.
