The Khwai Central Ima Market (KCIM), Nagamapal expressed concern over the state cabinet's decision on construction of a parking space over the Naga Naala by constructing slabs over the drain.
A statement of KCIM issued by its Secretary, Binodini, expressed that the cabinet's decision cannot ignore the order regarding the Naga Naala under the notification number 53/89-TP/NNS of Town Planning Development under the government of Manipur on June 08, 2001 last.
As assigned, the vendors of KCIM in the area should be allowed to vend in the location even if the Naga Naala is constructed with slabs upon the drain said the statement.
The Ima Market avails various articles including fresh vegetables and fresh fruit transported from different parts of the state produced by different communities from hills and valley.
KCIM appealed the government to withdraw their decision to make vehicle parking by constructing slabs over the Naga Naala and sort out an alternative means for common welfare keeping in mind the order issued by the town planning department of the state earlier said the statement.
