Imphal, February 09, 2011: As a pre-emptive measure, prohibitory order under Sub-section 2 of Section 144 CrPC has been imposed in the whole area under the jurisdiction of Imphal East district, said a statement issued by the District Magistrate.

While assembly of five or more persons in the specified area and carrying of objects likely to cause harm/injury have been prohibited with effect from 6 am of February 9 until further order, the statement added that permission of authority concerned is mandatory in case of proposals for procession, public meeting, rally, etc.
