Imphal, May 05 2016:
MPP president N Sovakiran has said that his party has no faith in any Bill which is moved/passed by any party based outside the State.
The party could have trusted the three ILPS Bills had the Bills been moved by a State party, he said.
Addressing a press conference held at their office, Sovakiran said that MPP was making its stance clear on the three ILPS Bills passed by the State Assembly in response to JCILPS' demand to all the political parties.
Safeguarding the territorial boundary of Manipur has been the main objective of the MPP since the party was established on December 26, 1968, he said and added that implementation of ILPS in the State was also clearly mentioned in the manifesto of 2012 Assembly election.
Sovakiran said that MPP had never compromised with any of these agendas in the past and would never do in future as well.
Contending that his party would extend co-operation to all the movements initiated by JCILPS regarding ILPS demand, Sovakiran said that MPP would support the proposed 42 hours public curfew as well.
The three ILPS Bills have been lying in the cold storage even after eight months have passed as these were passed under the initiatives of the political parties based outside the State, he alleged.
