Imphal, June 21 2010:
Information and Publicity Secretary of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Pary (KCP), H Poirei has said that the party has no connection whatsoever with the killing of Nongthombam Sharat (55), son of N Tomba of Oinam Awang Leikai, Kangjeibung Mapan, who was an Assist AO in Horticulture Department, at about 7 pm yesterday on the campus of his own house.
In a press release, Poirei said that yesterday's incident reminds the killing of PWD, EE, Nabachandra of Utlou by shooting right in front of his family, which was related to extortion.
Poirei further said that the particular insurgent organisation, whose name had been mentioned by the deceased to his wife before shooting him dead by one of two unknown youths last night, needs to clarify the allegation whether it was involved in the incident or not.
If the particular organisation was not involved, then a terrorist gang might have committed the crime in the name of the organisation to tarnish its name.
Therefore the organisation concerned needs to clear the people's suspicion and confusion, Poirei said.
He further said that a real revolutionary organisation must take seriously the views expressed by many people, who took part in the protest demonstration against the killing at Oinam bazar today, saying that the killing could not have been done without the help of neighbouring localities.
Instead of increasing the number of true revolutionary by organising the people in the right direction, the number of extortnists gangs was increasing as if there was a competition.
This is not a good trend, Poirei said.
If the man was eliminated just because of some amount of money on demand, and if the people of Kangleipak have to be killed one after another daily for demand of money, how many people of the 24 lakh population would remain.
If the so called revoluionaries or insurgents keep killing civilians, who would these insurgent/revolutionary groups would fight for, Poirei asked.
