Kohima, June 21 2010: Unfazed by opposition from a tribal body to his visit, NSCN (I-M) leader T Muivah today arrived at Pughoboto in Zunheboto district of Nagaland to consult different sections of society to carry the Naga peace process forward.

The apex tribal council, Sumi Hoho, had opposed Muivah's visit at this stage because NSCN (I-M) had made certain adverse remarks against it including banning the Sumi Hoho.

The council cautioned that if some unfortunate incident occurred during his visit, the Hoho should not be held responsible.

The people of Pughoboto, led by the district gaonburhas (village heads) union, however, welcomed Muivah when he arrived from Jotsoma near here, police sources said.

The Naga leader is likely to stay for next few days at Pughoboto, the home town of NSCN (I-M) chairman Isak Chishi Swu.

Muivah who had a brief stay at Jotsoma on return from Pfutsero from June 16 to 20, paid respects to the Naga martyrs of Jotsoma.

A statement from the information desk of ato kilonser, said Muivah while visiting the martyrs' park at Jotsoma, gave a moving account of Zasibito, the first Naga martyr including other national martyrs.

He expressed his emotions with tears of joy and triumph, it said.

Muivah declared he has undertaken the journey of peace and reconciliation and intent to touch Naga villages and towns in "Nagalim" as much as possible.

Later, at an interactive session with Jotsoma villagers, Muivah said when many of the Nagas tribes were living in ignorance, the Angami Nagas had educated the Naga people and shown the way, the statement added.

Meanwhile, Muivah in a separate statement thanked the Jotsoma village for the warm reception accorded to him and his entourage.

He was appreciative of the gesture shown by Jotsoma village that even within a limited time, they welcomed his team warmly and wholeheartedly.

"We know your heart, you have the respect for our nation.

We all honour you for that," Muivah said.

Further, the speech delivered by Jotsoma Village Council chairman, Visezo Nagi during an interactive session Muivah on June 20 was made available to the press.

He said it was perhaps the time for healing the past wounds and reconciliation.

He pointed put that too much blood has been spilt between the various Naga political factions, the tears of which were yet to dry up and the mist that has clouded the eyes yet to clear out.

He noted that the phenomenon was not only with Jotsoma village alone but with the neighbours too.

"Perhaps, this is the reason why many are reluctant to allow you (Muivah) to visit them.

Perhaps, this is the reason why individuals expressed dissenting opinion of us, hosting you in our village," he said.

The council chairman, however, said "taking into consideration what the future holds for the nation, we are pleased that we got this opportunity and are happy to host you and your entire entourage in our village" .
