MPCC member Jyotin Waikhom has appealed to the womenfolk of Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency for joining hand together and work for improving their financial condition and status in the society.
Inaugurating a training programme for the self help groups (SHGs), which would go on for three days, at his Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai residence today, Jyotin observed that Thangmeiband Constituency has been lagging behind in every aspects.
So, the people of the Constituency and more particularly the womenfolk should join hands together and work for improving their financial condition so as to elevate their status in the society.
The training programme is being organised by United Self Help Groups' Co-ordination Committee, Thangmeiband Kendra and is being sponsored by Imphal Municipal Council.
Around 45 SHGs of the women in Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency are participating in the training programme.
Jyotin asserted that encouraging formation of SHGs is not some pretence before the election.
But to bring together the women for the purpose of improving their financial position.
He expressed happiness that the womenfolk would be benefiting from the loan to be provided through IMC at minimum interest rate.
He also appealed to the womenfolk for active participation in the training programme and avail every possible knowledge and benefits.
Chairperson of State Social Welfare Advisory Board RK Noyonsana and Councillor of Ward no.III, Manipur Municipal Council Surangini were also present at the occasion.
