Imphal, October 10 2010:
A Chinese national was apprehended by the troops of 31 Assam Rifles at Khudengtabi yesterday and and handed over to Immigration office, Imphal, a statement of the IGAR (S) said today.
He was identified as Li Shizal (45) son of Wanhai of Zheijiang village, China.
The troops detained him on suspicion for interrogation.
On interrogation, the individual was found to be a Chinese national entering Indian territory without a valid permit.
On the other hand Thoubal police commandos in joint operation with troops of 12 Maratha Light Infantry apprehend four KCM (MC) activists in two separate counter insurgency operations, a statement of the Thoubal additional SP, Jogeshchandra Haobam said.
Two of the activists, identified as Angom Suiljoy @ Thouba (26) of Phayeng Ching Khunou and Shoubam Samen @ Naotomba (23) of Heinoubok were apprehended from Yurembam area in Imphal west yesterday during a surprise raids based on specific information.
Following disclosure made by them that some of their associates were taking shelter ar Awang Khunou, the combined team conducted another raid there in which two more activists of same group were apprehended.
They were identified as RK Mocha (35) of Uripok Achom Leikai and Wahengbam Bruce Lee @ Abu (22) of Sagolband Nepra Menjor Leikai at about 2.30 pm today, the statement added.
