The troops 11 Assam Rifles posted at Azuram village has conducted two days free medical camp was at Kaimai Ridge under Tousem Sub- Division and concluded yesterday said the press released issued by Adjutant of the 11 AR posted here at Tamenglong.
The aim of the camp was to provide medical assistance to diseased people as well as to give exposure to young trainees of village health workers and give practical exposure to the young girl in realistic life under supervision of medical expert.
This Battalion has conducted a village health worker training programme in unit location in which 12 young girls were trained on basic nursing training in unit hospital, it said.
In this event more than 200 villagers of Kaimai ridge were treated.
Free medicines were also distributed to the patients.
This humane step was an initiative of its kind not just to help hill people but also to make them dependent in fighting their own challenges, the release added.
Further, it is said that after the successful conduct to this medical camp it is sure that these trainee can provide necessary life saving first aid to patient own their own adding that this effort is highly lauded by villagers as well as District Medical Authority.
