Imphal, August 02:
The KCP Military Council was set up on August 3 last year with a firm conviction to unite different factions of the party.
Claiming that it was move aimed at saving KCP from factionalism and considering the significance of August 3, the outfit would commemorate the day as Raising Day of the Military Council every year henceforth.
A statement issued by chief of Military Council, KCP L Khuman wished that the people may have peace on the arrival of the Raising Day.
Observing that the State is currently in total chaos and anarchy with alleged unreasonable killings becoming the order of the day, the outfit conveyed fear that the State may become a land of insane people in case the prevailing trend is not checked by going to its roots and origin.
The root causes for the disastrous trend is not Indo-Manipur conflict but 'inter-conflict and egoism', asserted the outfit.
The rising conflicts between insurgent groups and within the same party and the consequent killings is another major cause, it noted.
As both the victims and killers are local people, it is the Manipuri society that is bearing the brunt of the conflict, it appealed to all disunited comrades of KCP to leave behind their own individual aspirations and to come together under a common goal.
The most prominent hurdle in building up an egalitarian society is corruption.
But the level of corruption in Manipur is one of the highest in the world.
As such, the KCP (MC), considering it a bounden duty, has launched Operation Sangai to eradicate corruption from the land.
Under the operation, the outfit has started correcting irregularities in Bamboo Mission implemented by Forest Department, appointment of cooks under Education (S) Department as well as in other institutes.
The KCP (MC) further prayed that the departed souls of all insurgent groups may rest in peace in the Heavenly abode.
