ADC Tamenglong Chairperson Humaliabou, who contested the recently held ADC election on a Congress ticket at 3-Konphung DCC, has said that no voter was allowed to cast vote at 3/7 Puilong polling station.
Speaking to reporters at ADC quarters complex, Khuman Lampak, Humaliabou said that underground cadres deposited the ballot boxes at the SDO office, Tamei after they voted en-masse for a particular candidate.
Of the seven polling stations of 3-Konphung DCC, voting was held peacefully only in two polling stations, he said.
At 3/1 Konphung polling station, UG cadres not only forcefully caste all the votes in the night of May 31 but also asked the Presiding Officer to note in his diary that the election was held on June 1 peacefully, Humaliabou said.
Booth capturing was reported at 3/7 Puilong polling station as well, he said and added that UG cadres closed voting at gun point at this polling station.
He further said that UG cadres broke ballot boxes at Takou and Taipram.
Humaliabou urged the authority concerned to annul the voting of Konphung and Puilong polling stations.
He also urged the Election Commission to record statements from the Presiding Officers concerned regarding voting at this particular DCC.
If such forceful voting and booth capturing continue, hill districts would never witness development, he added.
Saying that his revelation does not intend to show UG outfits in bad light Humaliabou said that he simply wanted to protest the wrongful tactics employed to win election forcefully.
