COMET school earning profit from students: DESAM

According to a complaint filed by guardians of COMET School Airport road on exorbitant rate of a pair of shoes and shocks, the DESAM took up investigation to find that the school authority was charging Rs 150 to Rs 200 higher from the actual price of the materials.
Arambam Thoi Thoi, vice president of DESAM in a press meet held at the head office of the student body said that the student body was actually waiting for such a report.
Reacting to the complaint a team of DESAM members visited Comet School, Airport Road and found out that the school authority was actually charging more per set of Shoes and shock.
Reacting to the business motive of the school DESAM had resolved to take up similar investigation with other private schools in Manipur.
The student body also alleged that private schools are focusing more on catering school uniforms, exercise books and other activities than imparting quality education.
