Old DC Office Complex at Loukoipat to be used as new CCC

Imphal, July 20 2020: Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur has notified that the Old DC Office Complex, Loukoipat is notified as "COVID Care Centre (CCC)" with immediate effect until further order in place of District Hospital, Bishnupur.

An office memorandum of DC, Bishnupur stated that the decision to turn the Old DC Office Complex was taken considering the immense pressure from the local public for allowing the District Hospital to resume its normal functioning by shifting the COVID Care Centre to another appropriate location.

The district administration along with the medical team, Bishnupur Municipal Council Members, COVID Relief Committees, members of local clubs and Meira Paibi leaders inspected various locations and found that the Old DC Complex at Loukoipat as the most appropriate location for relocating the COVID Care Centre of Bishnupur district, it said.

The memorandum further informed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Bishnupur to initiate the process for immediate resumption of normal activities in District Hospital, Bishnupur.

The CMO should also provide requisite materials to accommodate at least 10 patients at the new CCC while waiting for supply from the State Government apart from issuing roster duty for Doctors, Nurses and other staff to be stationed at the new CCC.

It asked Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur to provide security personnel to guard the new CCC at Loukoipat with immediate effect.

It also informed Executive Engineer (PWD), Bishnupur to conduct repair and construction of the new CCC.

Executive Engineer (PHED), Bishnupur was also asked to provide potable water at the new CCC while Deputy General Manager (MSPDCL), Bishnupur was assigned to ensure proper lighting at the CCC with immediate effect.

Executive Officer, Bishnupur Municipal Council will be responsible for regular disinfection and disposal of waste generated at the new CCC, it said.

Meanwhile, a sanitation drive was conducted by COVID-19 Relief Committee of Bishnupur Assembly Constituency at the new CCC location.
