Imphal, August 25 2023: A Meitei student studying at St Agnes College in Mangaluru, Karnaka has reportedly been assaulted by Kukis who are schoolmates on multiple occasions.

The Meitei student Jeji Yengkokpam, d/o Y Ajitkumar of Top Mayai Leikai, Imphal East is in XI standard at the Catholic missionary institution.

According to multiple sources, a group of Kuki students at St Agnes including her classmates have been assaulting Jeji since sometime back and the recent incident took place on August 23 .

The sources said that the Kuki students twisted the arm of Jeji, grabbed her neck and tried to push her inside a dustbin in the recent case.

The parents of the young student came to know of the bullying from Jeji herself.

Soon after, her parents sent a person whom they knew to the place where the Meitei student was staying.

Jeji told the person whom her parents sent about the Kuki students who bullied and assaulted her.

As per Jeji, about 100 Kukis study at St Agnes College of which 40 of them are in the XI standard alone.

The student also told the person that Kuki students have been teasing and assaulting her during school hours and breakfast, lunch and dinner time at the hostel.

The sources said that Jeji's father has taken a flight for Mangaluru today.
