Imphal, August 25 2023:
Shiv Sena Manipur State president M Tombi has informed that the party would be filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) over the failure to take punitive action against the Kuki MLAs from BJP, who he alleged are heavily involved in the on-going violence in the state.
Tombi made the revelation during the 40th foundation day celebration of Uripok Bachaspati Maning Leikai Development Association (UBMLDA) on Friday.
Tombi, who is also the advisor to UBMLDA, said that the on-going violence has left many dead and wounded while affecting all the people of the state.
Thus, the leaders cannot make any compromises without the approval of the people.
Shiv Sena accepts any compromise the people wants to make but will never endorse or follow through with the compromises made by Kukis from Israel.
He continued that regardless of whether one is a Kuki or a Meitei, one should apologise for any mistake done.
However, the poppies which are planted in the hills will be harvested in October.
For this, 308 bunkers have been set up in the foothills and hill ranges near camps of Assam Rifles, leaving no shortage of weapon or ration.
The people are well aware of who are supplying the above and have no trust on a particular central force, he remarked.
While the CM had been taking up the measures with the aim of saving the future generations, those who are objecting to this are the enemies.
The chief minister of Mizoram has no business interfering in the internal affairs of another state which has its council of ministers.
However, it is questionable why the BJP is not taking any action against its Kuki MLAs till date.
It is the MLAs' close association with the Kuki militants which is abetting the violence, he said, while informing that Shiv Sena will file a PIL over the inaction against the MLAs.
Stating that history cannot be distorted no matter how much one tries to, Tombi said that Kukis in the state administration service should not collude with others in their community to destroy the integrity of Manipur, which has a rich history spanning over 3000 years, and try to take over the land.
During the times of the kings, the Khongsai were warmly welcomed into the fold.
Thus, the leaders of all communities must make concerted efforts to restore the trust and peace between the present and future generation, he urged, while observing that the people's wishes may not be discussed in the upcoming session of the Assembly on August 29.Tombi then said that the state government has failed to extend support to local clubs, and even more so due to the prevailing violence.
The role of locals clubs in Manipur should not be taken lightly, he said.
Presided over UBMLDA president Maibam Subash, the function was attended by Shija Hospital Urology Department's Dr Paonam Somendro, wherein the gathering offered floral tributes to the portraits of deceased members of UBMLDA and those who have died in the on-going violence.
