Youngsters briefed on AR routines, help extended

Assam Rifles organised "A day with company commander" for the youth of Molcham village in Chandel district during which the commander briefed the 51 youngsters about daily routine followed in the forces, followed by a short session of physical training.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the youngsters were also taken on a tour of the Company Operating Base to show how sentry posts, cook house, dining hall, living barracks and others work.
The youngsters were also shown a display of equipment held with the forces and how to use it, followed by a ride in the mine protection vehicle (MPV) to get a feel of the rigours endured by Assam Rifles personnel.
Assam Rifles also organised an interaction and relief distribution event at St Mary's School in Behiang village, Churachandpur district on April 29 to address the needs of underprivileged border village residents, particularly children facing difficulties amid the ongoing turmoil.
The day's event also encouraged children to persevere in their education and excel in sports, fostering a peaceful and supportive environment, said the PRO, adding that 76 children and nine teachers participated in the programme.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles provided emergency medical assistance to a burn victim from P Boljang village, Churachandpur district on April 29 .
The victim, a 38-year-old male named Kaimingthang, with accidental burns to his left leg and foot, was brought to Assam Rifles Unit Hospital at Kangvai village by his relatives, where the medical staff promptly assessed his injuries.
With timely and efficient medical care, including fluid administration and antiseptic dressing, his condition was stabilised, setting him on the path to recovery, said the PRO.
