New office of MRB branch inaugurated

The new office of Manipur Rural Bank (MRB), Kakching Branch at Khunyai Leikai has been inaugurated on Thursday.
The inauguration pro gramme was attended by MRB chairman Abhay Kumar as chief guest, Manipur Pollution Control Board chairman & Wabagai MLA Dr Usham Deben as president and Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) Kakching Block district mission manager Taorem James as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MRB Kakching branch manager Phairenbam Amarkanta informed that MRB is a nationalised bank with the central government having 50 per cent share, Punjab National Bank 35 per cent and the state government 15 per cent share.
Mentioning that MRB is scheduled bank under Reserve Bank of India (RBI), he allayed apprehension among certain section of the population that MRB is a private bank and they may lose their deposited money while pointing out the as it has been in banking sector for over 40 years now.
Amarkanta further emphasised that the bank is specially focused on rural area and called upon the public to have faith in the bank.
