Imphal, August 16 2015: Demonstrations were held at different parts of the State today demanding implementation of ILPS in Manipur.

Meira paibis and members of SPYC staged a road block along Imphal-Ukhrul road by holding a sit-in on the road at Seijang Mayai Leikai in Imphal East district.

At Chingaren Tejpur, local meira paibis and club members staged a joint sit-in .

Similar demonstration was also held at Kharasol under Lamlai AC.

Locals of Oksu, Ningthem-cha Khul and Nongdam held torch rally.

Similar rally was also staged by locals of Non-gada Awang Leikai, Nongada Makha Leikai, Kameng, Tellou Channa.

Torch rally was also staged at Seijang, Yaingangpokpi, Sabungkhok Khunou.

A sit-in was staged yesterday jointly by locals of Keirao Bitra, Langdum, Khanarok, Chanam Sandrok, Thiyam Konjil, Keirao Wangkhem, Yaipharok Maring at Langdum Lamkhai.

The demonstrators also decided not to extend cooperation to non-locals in the area until implementation of ILPS.

A rally was also staged by the protesters till Bamonkampu.

They also raised several slogans during the demonstrations.

Children of Kongba Uchekon Lai Muriba Mamang today staged a sit-in at Walemba waiting shed and blocked the Kongba-Ucheckon road.

The young protesters demanded enforcement of ILPS in Manipur and punishment against personnel involved in killing a student and assaulting student protesters.

Members of OYSWC and NPYC blocked the Imphal-Dam road as part of the ILPS movement.

The roadblock was effective from 11am till 4pm.Sit-in-protests were also staged at Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai, Taothong, Laipham Khunou Makha Leikai, and Lairikyengbam Leikai.

People also staged sit-in-protest along with forming human chain at Achanbigei, Uchekon, Yuvaraj Palli Takhok Mapal, Kongba Takyel Khongbal and Naoremthong yesterday.
