Imphal, August 16 2015:
Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has expressed its displeasure and anger against the State Government for the failure to present the fresh Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) Bill by August 15, a deadline set by the Joint Committee.
JCILPS announced that from Monday onwards, there will be a series of intensified protests including public rallies and road blockades for two hours every day.
People from all walks of life have been urged to be prepared for the renewed stir.

JCILPS assistant media coordinator Md Kheirunddin Shah in a statement on Sunday also condemned the Manipur Government for citing technical problems as the ground for its inability to introduce the ILPS Bill within August 15 deadline.
He said the failure on the part of the Government to table the copy of the draft Bill during the talks with the Joint Committee by overlooking the deadline has clearly indicated that the former is adopting delaying tactics.
The JCILPS statement disclosed that the Government was yet to go through the page-97 memorandum explaining Constitutional feasibility of incorporating the key five points submitted by the Joint Committee.
Such attitude of the Government exhibited the habitual apathy of the Government, JCILPS said.
The Committee stated that even after two rounds of talks, the Government seems to be not convinced and this has further resulted in fueling public anger over the demand for implementation of ILPS to protect the indigenous people.
The Joint Committee declared its decision that it will intensify the public agitation by Monday if the Government fails to announce a draft ILPS Bill incorporating the five points.
JCILPS also stated that it would not shy away from holding talks with the Government provided that the five points are put in the proposed Bill.
The memorandum submitted to the Government and forwarded to several legislators by the public for ensuring introduction of ILPS is the correct step and that the lawmakers need to positively respond to the public demand.
