Senapati, November 30 2014 :
A suspected object found inside the mini-Secretariat complex, Senapati has been confirmed to be a bomb even as the State police bomb squad is awaited since yesterday evening to retrieve the explosive.
Meanwhile, Senapati police have cordoned off the area.
It may be recalled that an unidentified person sent bulk SMS's to many persons about planting a bomb at DC office complex on Friday morning sending panic among the office staff.
Later the sender was identified as a member of the armed group, Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF).
The MNPF cadre was reported to have stated that the bomb was planted inside the mini Secretariat as the district administration paid no heed to the monetary assistance the outfit sought some months back.
On Friday, after the wide circulation of the SMS's, 35 AR under 59 Mtn Brigade cordoned off the main office with sniffer dog and IED detector but could not find any suspicious object.
The suspected bomb was found on Saturday afternoon at an unused toilet of the building which houses the offices of EE PWD, Fisheries, District Employment exchange and District Co-operative.
Bomb squad is expected to arrive Monday morning.
