Conflict Widow Forum demands speedy justice for women victims

Conflict Widow Forum has urged the leaders who are upholding culprits involved in crimes against women and children.
In a press meet organised at Manipur Press Club on Saturday in connection with the International Fortnight Observation protesting violence against women, Convener of Conflict Widow Forum Wangkhem Chandrakala stated that many government officials and leaders have been hiding perpetrators of violence against women instead of giving punishment to them.
Helpless public are left without any support, she alleged, while demanding immediate trial and punishment to the criminals.
A number of women have been made widows due to drugs and HIV, said Chandrakala while demanding regular availability of PDS items to HIV infected women and nutrition supports for patients under ART treatment.
She appealed to those concerned not to delay the cases relating to crimes against women and help enable women to live peacefully fear.
The women group further warned of agitations, if the culprits in crimes against women are not booked and punished according to law.
