Bodies for rectifying misattribution of Mukna Kangjei

Imphal, May 02 2024: Drawing the attention of both state and central authorities, Manipur State Mukna Kangjei Association (MSKKA) and Keke Moirang Kangleiroi Kanba Lup (KMKKL) urged for prompt relevant measures to rectify false misattribution of Manipur's indigenous game Mukna Kangjei to Mizoram in a book.

In a joint release, MSKKA and KMKKL pointed out that the gross mistake in the Support Book titled "Learning Through Traditional Games" published by District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), New Delhi under the guidance of NCERT, is not for the first time as similar erroneous publication had also occurred in the past drawing strong condemnation from different quarters.

As such the organisations urged authorities concerned to look into the matter and take corrective measures so as to ensure that historical facts of Manipur are not distorted.
