AR engages with communities

Emphasising commitment to the people of Manipur, Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) has reportedly taken up various initiatives to engage with state's communities.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that AR conducted a one-day career guidance workshop at Southeast Manipur College, Chandel in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Department of Sociology of the College.
The event sponsored by Directorate of University & Higher Education was aimed at providing invaluable career insights to students.
The workshop featured an offline session by the AR commander and online sessions by Hyderabad FC football player Makan Winkle Chothe and Asia & world bodybuilding championships bronze medallist Wangkhem Jamuna Devi, who shared their knowledge and inspired students to make informed career choices, it added.
The release also mentioned that approximately 70 students, youths and teachers participated in the workshop.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match at Hengkot village, Churachandpur district encouraging local youth to embrace sports and refrain from involvement in communal violence, it conveyed.
The release stated that AR hosted a security meeting at Keithelmanbi Garrison, Imphal West fostering an open dialogue with villagers from surrounding areas, addressing security concerns, and ensuring a collaborative approach.
The AR also extended assistance in organising of First Phungrei Chungrungwon Football League in Ukhrul district, it said.
