ESM meets held, aids distributed

Assam Rifles organised ex-servicemen (ESM) meets at Nambol in Bishnupur district and Haibung in Kangpokpi district, as part of its commitment to honour and support retired soldiers and their families, said PRO IGAR(S) in a press release.
Over 50 ex-servicemen, accompanied by their dependents, attended the meets, engaging in meaningful interactions that allowed them to voice their concerns and seek assistance.
The interactive sessions served as a platform for discussing grievances and exploring redressal mechanisms, ensuring that every veteran felt heard and valued, according to the release.
Concurrently, a medical camp was conducted, offering essential health check-ups and medical advice to the veterans and their families.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles, in partnership with Sun-bird Foundation, organised a relief distribution for underprivileged individuals in Singhat.
Essential items such as clothing, footwear, and daily necessities were provided to those in need during the event.
The distribution took place at Lyzon Friendship School, reaching out to needy individuals affected by recent ethnic clashes.
The humanitarian effort not only sought to address immediate hardships but also aimed to promote community welfare and development, the PRO said in another release.
