Lup warns stir over arrest of YOM trio

Imphal, October 17 2024: Salai Apunba Nupi Lamjing Lup (SANULAL) has cautioned of launching intense form of agitations in case Manipur police do not release the three members of Youth of Manipur (YOM) arrested recently.

Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Thursday, SANULAL general secretary Akoijam Shanti condemned detention of YOM members namely L Sinthanganba, Vishal Tekcham and Maisnam Robinson.

Pointing out that it is natural for citizens in a democratic country to voice their grievances, which the government should accord importance and find solution, she regretted that the YOM members were arrested for supporting the campaign by transgender activist Malem Thongam for resolving ongoing crisis and demanding action against the ten Kuki MLAs scheming to balkanise Manipur.
