Teams for absentee voters flagged off

Jiribam, April 15 2024:
District Election Officer (DEO), Jiribam Krishna Kumar flagged off polling teams for absentee voters of Jiribam district to facilitate Vote from Home (VfH) for eligible elderly voters and persons with disabilities (PwDs).
Polling teams for Jiribam assembly segment falling under Outer Manipur (ST) parliamentary constituency were flagged off from DC office complex at Chingdong Leikai on Monday.
Altogether 65 eligible and willing voters of the district including 51 senior citizens who are above 85 years and 14 PwDs will exercise their franchise using postal ballot at their respective homes/places.
Two polling teams each consisting of one micro observer, two polling officers, a videographer and a team of security personnel visited houses of the absentee voters.
DEO instructed the polling teams to take utmost care to ensure free and fair voting abiding strictly the instructions and guidelines of the ECI.
Jiribam SP A Ghahashyam Sharma, ARO Thokchom Manoranjan Singh, additional SP Thomas Thokchom and other officials were also present during the flagging off ceremony.
