Laii Baptist Church holds Seed Counting Day

Women Society of Laii Baptist Church under Poumai Naga Baptist Association (PNBA) on Sunday held Seed Counting Day at the church campus in Laii village, Paomata block.
It is an annual event that takes place on the second Sunday of December each year.
The event witnessed varieties of organic products for sale.
According to the church, every home contributes a variety of agricultural goods produced for the Seed Counting Day, which was started by the Laii Baptist Church's women society department, with the money raised from sale of various agriculture products used to sponsor missionaries by the church's women's department.
The family that contributes maximum harvest is rewarded.
One fascinating part of the event is the exchange and sharing of several seeds for the next plantation.
Maize, sweet potato, cabbage, ash-gourd, pumpkin, yam, sugarcane, banana, broccoli, lemon, orange, papaya, tree beans, Naga dal, brinjal, ginger, ground nut, beans and other fruits, vegetables, and seeds were brought to the Seed Counting Day.
According to the women's society, around Rs 1,30,000 was raised during the sale and will be used to support missionaries sponsored by the women's department.
