Imphal, December 10 2023:
Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan has urged the state government to provide incentives to state forces, deployed at Moreh town as an encouragement for their relentless vigil and dedicated service to protect Manipur from adversary internal and external elements.
Speaking to some newspersons after extending monetary assistance to ISTV reporter Ningthoukhongjam Sanajaoba of Keibi village in Imphal East district, who is recovering from an ailment, the MLA acknowledged the role of media persons, especially during volatile times, and emphasised the importance of supporting journalists as and when they need public assistance.
He also commended commitment and diligent service being rendered by the state's forces to contain escalation of tension and violent incidents during this crisis period.
Joykisan maintained that the police and other state forces currently deployed at Moreh border town, are risking their life for safeguarding Manipur from narco-terrorists and armed miscreants from across the border, with some laying down their lives.
The government should acknowledge the spirit of sacrifice by the security forces in the border town and provide incentives to them.
He also hastened to clarify that proposal for incentivising state forces stationed in Moreh should not be misconstrued as undermining role and service of other personnel, as the former are enduring serious inconveniences in trying to uphold the territorial integrity of Manipur and safeguard public interest from narco-terrorists and armed miscreants from across the border.
While stating that he would approach the chief minister in this regard, Joykisan appealed to CSOs and meira paibis to esteem selfless service being rendered by state forces.
