Imphal, December 10 2023:
Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) would be organising a peace campaign from December 20 to January 9 with the objective to build a public movement to renew hopes among the people while striving towards unity and fraternity among the indigenous communities in order to build a strong, resilient and peaceful society.
Informing this during a press meet at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Imphal on Sunday, MAYOL convenor Asem Prince said that the Manipuri society is facing various challenges making it difficult to progress and join the global race of development.
There is despair and hopelessness in almost every spheres, especially in politics, economy and social morality.
The society needs a push in order to walk the path of unity, harmony, peace and development.
There is also a strong need to uphold the integrity and identity of the state and its indigenous people, especially in the wake of the ongoing crisis in order to make a strong and resilient Manipur, which is why MAYOL is organising the campaign.
The campaign will be organised as 'Long March for National Regeneration' and will cover different parts of the state.
It will be flagged off from Kangla on December 20 and conclude at Maharaj Gambhir Singh Complex, Canchipur on January 9 next year, he said while urging the people of the state, CSOs, Meira Paibi Lups and local clubs to support the campaign.
