Governor meets CM, chief secretary

Governor Anusuiya Uikey convened a meeting with Chief Minister N Biren Singh along with chief secretary Vineet Joshi at Raj Bhavan on Thursday evening.
A release by PRO Raj Bhavan informed that the Governor was apprised about the relentless efforts and continuous arrangements made by the government to extend assistance, particularly essential items, to the displaced people residing in various relief camps across the state.
Amidst the discussion, the imperative matters of constructing houses for the IDPs and disbursement of financial aid to the IDPs were also de liberated on, it mentioned.
On the disappearance of Khangenbam Apamba Singh of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai, Imphal West district, the Governor stressed on the steps needed to trace the missing person and to strengthen check posts in the fringe areas to deter crossover by the people of both sides through effective coordination among law enforcement agencies, it informed.
Additionally, the accommodation predicament faced by medical students of JNIMs (AIQ) was also discussed with the Governor urging the Chief Minister to arrange suitable accommodation for the students, it added.
