Langsai Thouna celebrates 'Mera Hou Chongba'

Kakching, October 17 2024: Langsai Thouna Manipur, Kakching celebrated 'Mera Hou Chongba' and 'Mera Wa Yungba' under the theme 'Solidarity in Brotherhood' at Kakching Wairi Ibudhou Khamlangba Laikol on Thursday.

As part of the celebration, a cultural exchange programme was organised with Maring war dance performed by troupes of Tuishimi and Phimal Sambum Maring village, 'Tarao Jagoi' by Heikakpokpi Tarao village, 'Dhol Dholok Cholom' and ' Khamba Thoibi Jagoi' by Sangeet Natak Academy (Kakching), Kom 'Jagoi' by Litan and Kakching Mantak Kom villages, Khoibu 'Jagoi' by Khangshim Khoibu village; Chothe 'Jagoi' by Purum Tampak Chothe village and 'Taa Khoushaba' and Stick Dance by Ibudhou Khamlangba Thang-Ta Academy, Kakching.

Exchange of gifts and 'Mera Wa Yungba' ceremony were also organised while Ningthoujam Lancha deliberated on 'Mera Wa Yungba and its significance in present context' and Langsai Thouna convener Rajiv Kshetri delivering the keynote address.
