Kakching, January 23 2024:
Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur publicity secretary Rakesh Naorem has cautioned both the central and state governments that the people could take a unanimous decision to turn against the government, if no action is taken to solve the prevailing violence in Manipur.
He made the statement on the sidelines of extending financial assistance and edibles to the bereaved family of Takhellambam Manoranjan of Thiyam Konjin on Monday, who was brutally killed by armed Kukis on January 17.Rakesh continued that the people could launch intense agitations to restore the independent, sovereign kingdom status of Manipur.
He said that Manipur, inhabited by around 35 communities who have been living harmoniously since ages, has been thrown into chaos by armed Chin Kuki narco-terrorists.
Many lives have been lost, many young women widowed and children left grieving for their deceased fathers.
Thus, the government should bring an end to this violence at the earliest while also considering the sentiments of the people, he suggested.
The LMG team also consisted of its secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam and key members, Kunjeshwar Mangsatabam, Surendra Nimgomba, Brojendro Thongam, Rameshwar Elangbam, Huirongbam Pk, Boinao Maibam, Romola Laishram, Debikara-ni Phurailatpam, Naorem Romila and Sunibala Loitongbam.
