Solar lights installed, hall inaugurated

Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) distributed solar lights to Old Samtal and S Bongjoi villages to address the critical need for reliable and eco-friendly lighting in these areas.
The initiative aligns with Assam Rifles' commitment to supporting, uplifting the regions it serves and further highlighting the positive impact on their daily activities, safety, and overall well-being, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
Assam Rifles also distributed and installed 10 solar street lights at Karang village in Bishnupur district with the commitment to improving the quality of life in remote villages under its Op Sadbhavana project on Tuesday.
The distribution and installation of solar street lights mark a small yet crucial step towards providing essential amenities to the community and enhancing the overall standard of living, the PRO said.
Assam Rifles also inaugurated a multipurpose hall, which will serve as a skill development centre for women at K Somrei village, as part of its ongoing women empowerment initiatives.
The ceremony, held on Tuesday witnessed the ribbon-cutting by the eldest lady of the village, symbolising the beginning of a new chapter in the empowerment of women, the PRO added.
