Imphal, December 31 2023:
Displa-ced people of Moreh staying at different relief camps have strongly condemned the "unprovoked" attacks by Kuki militants on State security forces at Moreh.
The displaced people staged protest demonstrations at relief camps at Akampat, Porompat, Wang-khei, Konung Mamang, Urup, Wangjing Lamding, Wangjing Kodompokpi, Kakching and Mayang Imphal.
The protest demonstrations were organised by Meetei Council Moreh and Protection of Meitei Victims Moreh.
Condemning the brutal attacks on State security forces, the displaced people demanded the Government to remove Kuki Assam Rifles personnel from Moreh and send more reinforcements to the border town.
The attacks carried out by Kuki militants had violated the terms of the Sus- pension of Operation (SoO), they said, demanding the Central and State Government to withdraw from the agreement.
They raised slogans demanding the Government to "drive away illegal immigrants and Kuki narco-terrorists from the soil of Manipur".
The Government should take up strong measures to punish the Kuki militants who carried out the attacks, they said.
