Sagolband MLA launches 'Go to Leikai' programme

Imphal, July 15 2022: For the first time in the state, a programme titled 'Go to Leikai/Yumthong Khuding Anouba Mangal' has been launched in Sagolband AC by MLA Rk Imo in a function held at Sagolband Thingom Leikai community hall on Friday.

Speaking at the inaugural function organised jointly by Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC) and BJP Sagolband Mandal, Rk Imo pointed out that the government has taken up 'Go to Village' and 'Go to Hills' programmes so as to ensure that people avail benefits of various welfare schemes of the state and central governments.

With an objective to ensure maximum coverage of the schemes, 'Go to Leikai' programme has been launched in the constituency, he said, while urging the people to avail the benefits of different schemes.

Stating that the programme is first taken up for ward no 10, the MLA informed that similar events will be conducted for ward no 7 on July 20, ward no 8 on July 25 and ward no 24 on July 29 and again in the following month.

Those who failed to avail the benefits this time can take the opportunity next month, he added.

The MLA informed that PMJAY, CMHT, processing of E-SHRAM cards, rectification of Aadhaar card, birth and death certificate, disability certificate, old age pension and widow pension smart card, Covid vaccination including booster dose, health check-up under CMHT would be covered in the programme.

In addition to the benefits provided by government regarding cancer, kidney and heart patients, Rk Imo informed that 75 patients have been extended assistance of Rs 20,000 each under 'MLA gi ana ayek ki tengbang' and it will be given to 16 more patients also.

If the illness is critical, needing surgery or organ transplantation, Rs 50,000 will be provided, he assured, while adding that financial assistance given to Covid victims is still continuing.

He expressed confidence that the people of the constituency will avail the benefits of the schemes and consequently help in the development of the constituency.
