Covid spreads in 15 districts, 89 new cases detected

Imphal, July 15 2022:
The fourth wave of Covid-19 has spread in all the districts of the state except for Pherzawl as Friday reported 89 new positive cases from 12 districts, out of 601 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 14.81 per cent positivity rate.
The 89 fresh cases (44 male & 45 female) are residents of Imphal West (39), Imphal East (28), Kakching (7), Thoubal (5), Ukhrul (2), Jiribam (2), Bishnupur (1), Chandel (1), Senapati (1), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (1) districts.
Friday also reported 24 recoveries from home isolation whereas no death case was reported in the last 24 hours.
Number of active cases rose to 385 active cases, out of which 281 (87.81 per cent) are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,37,779 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed the lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received the second dose of Covid vaccine.
There are no vacant beds in JNIMS while 32 beds are available in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 534 positive cases since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 509 new positive cases.
The cumulative positivity rate for the current month rose to 11.64 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 99 D-type and 19 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 3027 vaccine doses administered which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,01,439, out of which 12,70,179 had received the second dose and 1,24,450 administered the precautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49017), Imphal East (30593), Thoubal (10184), Churachandpur (11067), Kangpokpi (3142), Tamenglong (3479), Bishnupur 9863), Senapati (2502), Ukhrul (3288), Kakching (6917), Chandel (2743), Noney (1163), Tengnoupal (1204), Jiribam (1113), Kamjong (1039), and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,402 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 31,054 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,21,773 tests per million population against the national average of 6,17,119 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate came down to 98.18 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.51 per cent.
