Imphal, July 15 2022:
44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector Assam Rifles/IGAR (East) organised 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme for veterans and local populace of Tamenglong.
Speaking on the occasion, the 44 Assam Rifles adjutant conveyed that our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal.
Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the 'Tiranga' but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building.
On the other-hand, 44 AR commandant interacted with the veterans and veer naris over video call and inquired about the problems being faced by them.
While assuring continuous support from the unit in solving their problems in future, the commandant also briefed the veterans about various welfare activities undertaken by the Battalion.
Information and ideas with respect to ongoing welfare schemes launched by Army/Assam Rifles were shared with them.
Veterans, veer naris and locals were gifted miniature flags and were joyous to display these flags at their respective homes.
With bringing the flag home campaign, Battalion aims to educate and invoke the feeling of patriotism in the heart of locals and especially the youth of the region, said a release.
