Imphal, December 20 2023:
Maintaining that educated youth of the state should not wait only for government jobs but focus on becoming entrepreneurs who can generate jobs for others, Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOCS) has appealed to all to contribute in making Manipur a self-dependent state.
The closing function of the 3-day training programme on "Cultivation of Pleurotus Mushrooms" was held at Leima Mushroom, which is a unit of Pureiromba Farm Private Limited, located at Malom Haraorou, on Wednesday.
Speaking at the function, FOCS vice president BM Yai-ma informed that in addition to developing the economy of the state, all should contribute their mite to make Manipur a self-reliant state.
To achieve the goal, FOCS has been conducting various skill development programmes to help the youth become self-employed and create source of livelihood for others as well, Yaima maintained.
He also said that the participants in the training programme should take the best out of the training, translate the knowledge gained into action and become successful entrepreneurs.
As the state has become dependent on others for almost everything, we need to produce more food grains by adopting innovative ideas in agriculture sector and using new technologies thereby enabling the state to be self-dependent.
The function was also attended by FOCS secretary general Angom Punilkumar and Manipur Women's Federation secretary Demona.
Certificates were also distributed to 25 trainees during the function.
