IE postal voting centres opened

Imphal, April 15 2024:
In view of the ensuing 18th Lok Sabha election, the Postal Voting Centre (PVC) for casting vote through postal ballot by Absentee Voters in Essential Category (AVES) in respect of Imphal East district has been opened.
According to an order issued by Imphal East DEO on Saturday, the PVC shall be functional at Panchayat Bhavan DC Office Complex, Porompat from April 14 to 16 between 9am to 5pm.DC Imphal East branch officer Hemabati Yumnam (7005151961) has been appointed as the officer in-charge of the PVC.
Meanwhile, in another order issued on Saturday by assistant returning officer (Heingang & Khurai ACs), a facilitation centre for casting of postal ballots for Heingang and Khurai ACs has been opened at the office of the ARO, 1st Floor, Zilla Parishad Building, DC Complex, Porompat with SDC (Heingang) Premanandi detailed as the officer in-charge of the centre.
All electors who applied for postal ballots are informed to avail the facility from April 14 to 16 between 9 am to 5 pm.
Another order issued by the DEO on Sunday notified departments concerned of the state and central government that no wages and other government benefits should be disbursed in the district before 72 hours of the day of the poll.
The DEO also issued another order prohibiting the use of PAs and loudspeakers before 48 hours of the day of the poll from 4 pm of April 17.Anyone found violating the order will face strict legal action.
Another order by the DEO also prohibited sale of intoxicants or substances in hotels, eateries or in public and private areas of the district from 4pm of April 17.The ban will again come into effect on the day of counting the votes on June 4 .
