KNLF celebrates 7th raising day

Imphal, March 10 2015:
KNLF/KPA/(KNO) celebrated its 7th raising day on March 6 at camp Olive, Semol village of Chandel district along with a host of dignitaries and leaders of civil society organizations, area village chief, MDCs.
A statement signed by Kolphe Kuki, secretary, information & publicity, KNLF/KPA (KNO) said the core cabinet of the front�chairman, chief of army staff and general secretary along with other top-ranking officers�were also present on the occasion.
The CoAS of the front led the others in observing a one-minute silence and giving a gun salute a mark of respect to those cadres and leaders such as former chairman of the front Pu Ngamlet Baite, advisor Pu L Misao and private Boinei Kuki who had sacrificed their live for the cause of the liberation movement, the statement said.
CoAS in his speech urged all the cadres to maintain discipline and to adhere to the agreement of suspen-sion of operation (SoO), it said.
It said that the chairman of the front expressed his gratitude to all the participants at the event and urged all village chiefs, civil society leaders and the public to move forward and work for the development of the area.
He also pleaded with all the village chiefs of te area to uphold their traditional rights, the statement added.
It added that the general secretary of te organization, Lalmoi highlighted the sacrifices made by the organization to achieve the goal.
On signing of the SoO under the umbrella of KNO, the general secretary said that it was necessary to work collectively to achieve the political aspiration, it further said.
It said that lalmoi also requested the Kuki civil society and armed groups to work as one family to achgeive the common political aspiration.
The raising day celebration of the outfit ended with a mass payer for the Kuki nation and for peace and prosperity, the statement added.
