A fraud who reportedly collected money with the false promise of giving jobs has been pulled up with a certain amount of money by the State Vigilance Commission.
Moreover two other persons have been apprehended in connection with the same case.
A well placed source informed that the fraud was apprehended when the money was being exchanged at Indira Park near the office of Imphal Municipal Council at around 2.30 pm of March 4 .
Officials of Vigilance Commission have been keeping a sharp vigil following reports that a work employee of Revenue Department and another person working at CADA have been collecting Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 from some individuals with the false promise of giving them jobs.
A team led by Additional SP (Vigilance) Sarda Laishram pulled up Revenue Department's Section Officer Phurailatpam (N) Khamnam (O) Ibeyaima along with a certain amount of money from Indira Park.
Acting on her disclosure, CADA Division II Section Officer Wahengbam Meghachandra from Kongpal Kongkham Leikai was also pulled up.
In connection with the same case, one Md Jiyajuddin working in Revenue Department has also been apprehended.
The fraud was apprehended when 16 numbers of Rs 500 notes and Rs 8000 of different denominations were being exchanged.
All the three frauds are being lodged in police custody and forged service regularization orders of 11 Revenue Inspectors purportedly issued by the Revenue Commissioner were also recovered from their possession.
